Surfliner Adventure with the Cousins

Trevor and I took the kids on a Pacific Surfliner adventure today, a quick Grover-SLO-Grover trip (tickets are pretty cheap with multi-ride tickets). First weekend on the Surfliner for Stone’s new Tangerine Express IPA (gotta try it if you like IPAs). We spent our hour in SLO at Mitchell Park just 3 blocks from the train station.

“We Built This City”

After some introductory remarks and a brief update on the railroad, Rob Himoto presented his new 45-minute slideshow spanning the existence of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad and its impact on the development of the City of Santa Maria. This program was held at the Santa Maria Library’s Shepard Hall (421 S. McClelland Street). All the pics:
